Overview
From 10 March 2022, the scope of trusts needing registration with HMRC expanded due to the EU’s Fifth Money Laundering Directive. Trustees need to register applicable trusts by 1 September 2022. Common examples include Bare Trusts, Discretionary Trusts, Trust Funds for minors, and Life Interest Trusts. Many such trusts are created within a Will.
